Ms. Bentley is an
attorney with Alan R. Miller, P.C. She has been
with the firm since 2002. She attended the
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she majored
in Psychology and Criminal Justice. While attending
U of M, she was a three-year member and Vice
President of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity
International. She was also a two-year member of and
Treasurer of Delta Epsilon Iota National Honor
Fraternity. Additionally, she was heavily involved
with the University Students Against Cancer, the
University Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter, the
University of Michigan Relay for Life Team and the
Undergraduate Psychological Society. She graduated
with honors from U of M with her bachelor’s degree
in 2006.

Ms. Bentley then began
law school at Wayne State University Law School in
Detroit, Michigan. She was a three-time Dean’s
Scholar and Merit Scholar Recipient. She was also
heavily involved in student activities while in law
school. She was the Secretary of the Student Bar
Association Board of Governors during the 2007-2008
school year and was awarded the President’s Award
for her service to the students. She was then
elected in a school-wide election as President of
the Board of Governors for the 2008-2009 school
year. She was also a member of the Wayne State Law
School Mock Trial Team and was a semi-finalist in
the 2009 Scott Barris Mock Trial Competition. During
her second year of law school, she and a fellow
student worked tirelessly to develop a Sports and
Entertainment Law Students Society which has since
proven to be a great success and popular with many
of the law students. One of her best accomplishments
in law school was scoring the highest grade, of 140
students, on her Criminal Procedure final exam. She
graduated with a juris doctor degree cum laude in
2009.
Ms. Bentley is a member
of the American Bar Association, the Michigan Bar
Association, the Oakland County Bar Association, the
National Association of Professional Women, the
Young Active Professionals and The Uptown Group.
She is also a member of the Executive Boards of the
Michigan Sports Hall of Fame and the Wayne State
University Law School’s Alumni Association. Ms.
Bentley is also a proud “Big Sister” with the Big
Brothers, Big Sisters program in Detroit.
Ms. Bentley has worked
with the firm for eight years. During that time she
has had the opportunity to learn from some of the
preeminent attorneys in the country. In addition to
observing these attorneys skillfully and tactfully
negotiate contracts for their clients, Ms. Bentley
has formed numerous business entities and drafted
the associated Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws,
Shareholders Agreements and other related documents,
handled many civil and commercial litigation
matters, FINRA and other securities-related
situations, construction and building disputes and
has substantial contractual dispute, negotiation and
settlement experience. She has extensive experience
with the United States Citizenship and Immigration
Service and also with the United States Patent and
Trademark Office. She has corporate and real estate
law experience and has worked on several mergers and
acquisitions, following these processes from the
initial due diligence phase and through finalization
of the transactions. Ms. Bentley has a wide range
of litigation experience and welcomes that
fast-paced area of law. Above all else, she prides
herself on knowing the importance of developing and
maintaining close relationships with clients and the
value of honesty, fairness, friendliness and hard
work.
